On
open moorland, this small passage-grave has a circular chamber (on the right
in the photo) and a rectangular antechamber. The structure, now roofless,
is about 24m long.
The narrow entrance at the south-west (on the left in the photo) is only
0.8m wide. It lies between two portal stones, at the centre of the horned
cairn's façade. There is another pair of 'horns' at the opposite
side of the structure.
The site was excavated in 1866 and cremated and unburnt bone, flints and
pottery were found. In the antechamber there were seven inhumations, with
all the skulls placed to the right of the entrance.
