It is a huge mound of stones, 18.2m in diameter and 3.6m high. The entrance is to the east-south-east: the passage leading to the central chamber is 6m long and only 75cm high. The central chamber, divided into three compartments by vertical slabs, has still its original corbelled roof. Excavation in the 19th century found remains of several human bodies in the burial chamber. In care of Historic Scotland |
