This
vertical rock-face is much decorated with well preserved cupmarks, cup-and-ring
markings and other more unusual motifs such as cups within squares and ringed
stars.
The decorations seem to have been done by different carvers. The sandstone
rock-face is divided in two principal panels. On the left-hand one there
are also three carvings like deer and a Medieval inscription.
It is also carved with the date of 1751, showing that the site was known
in the past centuries, then it was forgotten and re-discovered in 1986,
when trees in front of the cliff were removed. |
