Cloud cover ruins annual Newgrange solstice spectacle
Cloud cover has prevented the sun from shining into the ancient passage tomb at Newgrange in Co Meath (Ireland). Around 30 lucky people had secured access to the monument to watch the rising sun illuminating the central chamber on the shortest day of the year. The sun will be in a similar position in the sky for a few days, so some may get an opportunity to see the phenomenon until the end of the week.
