On the slopes of Mount Tullig, about half a mile west of the Caherdaniel village, lies this fine stone fort. Not far
from the Kenmare-Waterville road, the fort is in excellent repair. Particularly noteworthy are the dry-stone walls. Looking
West from the Caherdaniel fort, you can glimpse the Skellig isles on the horizon.
Nearby, going East on the N70 road to Kenmare, there is another extremely interesting fort called Staigue Fort,
overlooking the Kenmare River.
