Four
standing stones situated in a semi-circle in a very unusual position, on
a steep slope ending in a cliff, on Great Bernera facing Lewis (Western
Isles).
The stones range from 0.9m to 2.7m in height with their broad faces looking
south towards the water and Lewis. The north-east one was re-erected in
1985 in its socket hole with its original packing stones.
The Gaelic name Cleitir means 'Cliffs'.
